We are a medium-sized company with approx. 70 employees who are almost exclusively involved in the construction of new sailing yachts.
Our yachts, from 31 to 40 feet, are built in our own production facilities; starting with the development, the mould construction, the production of plastic parts, continued with the wooden interior fittings, the hardware assembly, up to the electronic and engine installation and the finished product is delivered by us directly to the customer.
We build about 14 boats a year, which are similar but rarely completely the same, as we take into account all individual customer wishes wherever possible. Repairs, service and winter storage work are commissioned by our service team.
The spectrum of training to become a boat builder is very broad and multi-layered. Our company offers you the best possible training, especially in the areas of wood and plastic, in modern boat building in close cooperation with the State Vocational School for Boat Builders in Travemünde, guided by your own commitment.
In recent years, we have come to consider a one-week internship as a mandatory prerequisite for obtaining an apprenticeship in our company, for our own information and that of the applicants for apprenticeships. During this internship, we will try to guide you through all departments and introduce you to as many employees as possible in order to give you the most comprehensive insight into our company.
The company expenses for the internship are free of charge, but no other costs for travel, accommodation, clothing, etc. will be covered.
If this is of interest to you, please contact Ms. Ulrike Schmidt by telephone at 04522 – 744 61-10 or by email with a complete application at [email protected]
For the internship you should bring
- Clothes that can get dirty,
- safety shoes with a fine sole that do not stain and meet the S1P safety standard
- a good mood and fun with boats
Applicants under the age of 18 must first obtain a certificate from a doctor stating that they can wear a respirator (this is a dust mask) without any health concerns and then bring this certificate (informal and can be issued by any family doctor) with them to the internship.
We work Mondays to Thursdays from 7:00 am to 3:45 pm and Fridays from 7:00 am to 12:20 pm.
If accommodation is required, we have the following as direct neighbours to our shipyard
- on one side the youth hostel Plön, phone no.: 04522 – 2576
- on the other side the camping site Spitzenort, Tel.-No.: 04522 -2769
- as Plön is a recreation area, there are many holiday flats; an example would be the Bünning family, Tel.-No.: 04522 – 2446
If you have any questions or would like to make an appointment, we look forward to hearing from you.
